The City of Tulsa will celebrate Welcoming Week, a nationwide annual celebration that brings immigrants, refugees, and longtime residents together to affirm the importance of unity and inclusivity, from Sept. 12 to Sept. 18.

This years’ theme, “Creating Home Together,” focuses on bringing Tulsans of all backgrounds together to achieve the City’s goal of shared prosperity. Several events and trainings for employers, workforce providers, and service providers will be held throughout the week.

“We launched the New Tulsans Initiative to show that Tulsa was committed to becoming a world-class city that promotes opportunities for both native-born and immigrant residents,” said Krystal Reyes, Chief Resilience Officer for the City of Tulsa. “Through the various events happening during Welcoming Week, we’ll celebrate the cultural diversity in our city and help build capacity in our city to implement innovative strategies to create shared prosperity for everyone who makes Tulsa their home.”
