The Tulsa Authority for Economic Opportunity (TAEO) is launching community engagement opportunities, including virtual events and an online survey, to better understand what Tulsans want to see when it comes to equitable economic development efforts in Tulsa.
The series, titled “Equity in Action: Envisioning the Future of Economic and Community Development in Tulsa,” will be held on Zoom, the first of which will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, and the second of which will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.
Each session will be held from 6-8 p.m. Upon registration, participants should expect an email with additional instructions on options to join the session.
TAEO’s community engagement series is a joint effort with the City of Tulsa and the Mayor’s Office of Resilience and Equity, and all Tulsans are invited to share community priorities for TAEO, which serves as Tulsa’s new, independent economic development organization that merges multiple previous government entities. TAEO’s mission is to build Tulsa’s economy to create prosperity for all Tulsans, including those that have not historically benefited from the growth of the city’s economy.
TAEO is also launching the ‘Equitable Future Survey’ to inform and prioritize budgeting and investments, and to shape long-term strategy for Tulsa’s community and economic development work. The survey is available online.
