While initial work has already begun on the North Gilcrease Museum Road rehabilitation project, the next phase of the project will begin Wednesday, April 16, and will impact traffic between West Pine Street and East Apache Street.
This phase marks the beginning of improvements to the arterial portion of North Gilcrease Museum Road. This project consists of milling- removing the old surface of the road, patching where needed under the surface, and then repaving the road with new asphalt. Additional infrastructure improvements will also occur, such as upgrading sidewalks and curbs and installing new stormwater drainage systems.
During this phase, the initial stage of construction will include the closure of the southbound lane, while the northbound lane remains open to traffic. Once repairs to the southbound lane are complete, the project will move to phase two, during which the northbound lane will close, and the southbound lane will remain open for traffic.
The City of Tulsa has contracted with Ellsworth Construction for this $999,000 project funded through the Improve Our Tulsa 2 sales tax extension. Construction is scheduled for completion in early summer of this year.
Drivers are encouraged to follow set detour routes and plan to allow for extra time.
