Beginning Monday, April 12, lanes on West 21st Street between South Yukon Avenue and West 23rd Street will be closed for construction of a storm pipe.
This project will be completed in phases, with different lane closures during each stage. The contractor will first close the outside eastbound lane and install a new manhole and pipe. Next, they will close the outside westbound lane to install the inlet and another pipe. The contractor will then close the two middle lanes to install and connect the storm pipe, leaving one outside lane open in each direction for traffic.
After the pipe has been installed and tested, another round of lane closures will be required to restore the pavement. These closures will follow the same pattern as those used for the pipe installation.
The work is anticipated to be complete by Tuesday, May 27.
